Finding a place to belong is always one of the toughest tasks a person can face in life. And just when I thought I had found my place, life made other plans for me. So after a year of going to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and finally feeling that this was the place for me, I had to move back to Houston. And now, I would have to essentially start life over at the University of Houston. Having been introduced to Greek Life at my previous school, I decided to look into fraternities at UH. There were many to pick from, even the chance to be a founding class member for another South Asian fraternity, but nothing really appealed to me. That was until I talked to a friend about Delta Epsilon Psi and he really sparked my interest. Funny thing was that he didn’t tell me much other than it was something you just have to experience. And it seemed like that was the textbook answer to give because I was getting it from every person I talked to. So I decided to dive in and to this very moment, I couldn’t have made a better decision. Joining Delta Epsilon Psi has been a life altering experience for me. I now find myself surrounded by good people who all want to make something out of life. Countless opportunities have presented themselves to help me get the most out of my college career. DEPsi has pushed me to become better organized, challenged me academically, helped me to network and get better acquainted with my school. I now find myself helping with Rush events, speaking at different Greek events and just overall enjoying my time at school. Thinking back on every time someone would tell me that it is just something you have to experience, it makes sense now. But no one could have put it into better perspective than my great-grand big, Jaison Daniel, Mu Class; “From the outside looking in, they don’t understand it. But from the inside looking out, we can’t explain it.” Experience the legacy. Experience Delta Epsilon Psi.
